Using the Sidebar

Last updated: January 10, 2025

Using the Sidebar

TL;DR Hover over the right edge of your screen to open the sidebar with recently closed tabs and browser bookmarks.

The sidebar is a slide-out panel that gives you quick access to your recently closed tabs and/or browser bookmarks—without leaving your new tab page. It's perfect for recovering tabs you accidentally closed or quickly jumping to a bookmark buried deep in your browser's bookmark folders.

Opening the sidebar

Move your mouse to the right edge of the screen and hover for a moment. The sidebar slides out automatically.

Browser bookmarks

Recently closed tabs

See up to 25 tabs you recently closed and restore them with one click:

  • Click any tab to restore it
  • Use "Restore all" to reopen all closed tabs at once

Note: This feature requires the "sessions" permission. You'll be prompted to grant it when you first enable the panel.

Browser bookmarks

Access your browser's native bookmarks directly from Speed Dial:

  • Browse through bookmark folders
  • Use breadcrumb navigation to go back
  • Search within your browser bookmarks

Note: This feature requires the "bookmarks" permission. You'll be prompted to grant it when you first enable the panel.

Enabling sidebar panels

  1. Go to Preferences > Sidebar
  2. Toggle on "Show recently closed tabs" or "Show browser bookmarks"
  3. Grant the required permission when prompted
