Layout Settings

TL;DR Choose between Standard layout (group tabs in header) or Compact layout (groups in dropdown). Adjust columns, spacing, and width in Preferences > General.

Standard vs Compact Layout

Speed Dial 2 offers two layout modes:

  • Standard Layout – All your groups appear as tabs in the header, making it easy to switch between them with a single click. Best if you have a few groups and want quick access.
  • Compact Layout – Groups are hidden in a dropdown menu, giving you a cleaner, more minimalist interface. The header shows only the current group name. Best if you have many groups or prefer a distraction-free look.

To switch between layouts:

  1. Go to Preferences > General
  2. Toggle Compact Layout on or off

Number of columns

Control how many bookmarks appear per row:

  1. Go to Preferences > General
  2. Find the Columns slider
  3. Choose between 3 and 20 columns

Pro Tip: Use fewer columns for larger thumbnails, or more columns to fit more bookmarks on screen.

Spacing

Adjust the gap between bookmark tiles from 0 to 32 pixels. Less spacing creates a denser grid, while more spacing gives a cleaner look.

Maximum width

Set the maximum width of the bookmark grid (640 to 3200 pixels). This prevents bookmarks from stretching too wide on large monitors.

Center vertically

Enable this option to vertically center your bookmarks on the page. When disabled, bookmarks align to the top.

Show + button

Toggle the visibility of the "Add bookmark" button on your Speed Dial page. Hide it for a cleaner interface if you prefer using keyboard shortcuts or the browser toolbar to add bookmarks.
